Privacy Policy

Hey, Let's Talk Privacy
Look, we get it - privacy policies aren't exactly thrilling reading material. But here at Nexor Haven Architecture, we're pretty serious about keeping your information safe. We've been designing spaces in Toronto since day one, and just like we wouldn't leave your building plans lying around, we don't mess around with your personal data either.
This policy explains what info we collect, why we need it, and what we do (and don't do) with it. No legal jargon overload - just straight talk about how we handle your stuff.
What Information We Collect
When you reach out to us or use our website, we might collect a few things:
- Contact details - Your name, email, phone number. Pretty standard stuff when you're trying to get in touch about a project.
- Project info - Details about what you're looking to build or design. Property address, budget range, timeline - things that help us understand what you need.
- Website usage data - Basic analytics like which pages you visit, how long you stick around. Helps us figure out what's working and what's not.
- Cookies - Small files that remember your preferences. Nothing sinister, just makes your browsing experience smoother.
Why We Need Your Info
We're not collecting data for the fun of it. Here's what we actually use it for:
Getting back to you - Can't respond to your inquiry if we don't have your contact details, right?
Project work - Understanding your needs, creating proposals, managing the design process.
Making the site better - Analyzing what people actually look at helps us improve the experience.
Legal stuff - Sometimes we gotta keep records for contracts, regulations, that sort of thing.
Who Sees Your Data
Short answer: not many people. We're not selling your info or sharing it with random third parties. Here's who might need access:
- Our team members working on your project
- Trusted consultants or contractors directly involved in your build (and only with your okay)
- Service providers who help run our website and systems - they're bound by confidentiality agreements
- Legal authorities if required by Canadian law
We don't do cold marketing lists or spam. That's just not our style.
How We Protect Your Information
Security's kinda like good foundation work - you don't see it, but it's crucial. We use industry-standard encryption, secure servers, and regular backups. Our team's trained on data protection, and we limit access to only those who genuinely need it for their work.
That said, nothing's 100% bulletproof online. We do our best, but if you're sending super sensitive info, give us a call instead - sometimes old-school's better.
Your Rights & Choices
It's your data, so you've got some control here:
Access: Want to see what info we've got about you? Just ask.
Corrections: If something's wrong or outdated, let us know and we'll fix it.
Deletion: Want us to delete your data? We can do that, unless we're legally required to keep it.
Opt-out: Don't want emails from us anymore? There's an unsubscribe link in every message.
Complaints: If you think we've messed up, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Cookies & Tracking
Yeah, we use cookies - not the chocolate chip kind, unfortunately. These little data bits help the site remember your preferences and let us see how people use the site. Most browsers let you control or block cookies if you're not into that.
We use Google Analytics to understand traffic patterns. It's anonymized data, but if you want to opt out, there's a browser add-on for that.
How Long We Keep Your Data
We don't hoard information forever. Here's the general approach:
- Project files and client communications - typically 7 years after project completion (it's a Canadian legal thing)
- Inquiry forms from folks who don't become clients - about 2 years, then we clear them out
- Website analytics - usually stored for 2 years max
Once we don't need it anymore, we delete it securely.
Third-Party Links
Sometimes we link to other websites - supplier sites, building resources, that kind of thing. Once you click away from our site, this privacy policy doesn't apply anymore. Those sites have their own rules, so you might wanna check 'em out if you're concerned.
Changes to This Policy
We might update this policy now and then - regulations change, we add new services, you know how it goes. When we make significant changes, we'll update the date at the top and let active clients know. For everyone else, checking back here occasionally isn't a bad idea.
Questions? We're Here
If you've got questions about how we handle your data, or want to exercise any of your rights, don't hesitate to reach out. We're not lawyers hiding behind legalese - we're architects who care about doing right by our clients.
